"Sometimes I don't give a rip"

There Is A Scripture

Sometimes I just don’t give a rip about all the things going on in the world. I could care less; all the twisted thinking and actions, all the energy to curse instead of bless, all the energy and talents and resources dedicated to causes and things purposed only to satisfy self centered gratification, ambitions and pleasures.

All these things exert so much pressure on us because there is a great deceiver who dresses these things up to look and feel appealing, spreads it around everywhere so we think it is all purposeful and acceptable, even spinning that good is done and we are good, through what really is his character and motive, what steals, kills and destroys.

We get lulled into it. But then we have those Holy Spirit moments of revelation and conviction and repentance. We wake to what is going on and make corrections. Now we experience these things but in others around us and it attacks our peace.

So we say, “You guys are on your own. You can have it. I’m “outta” here.” That can feel good. What a relief.

And maybe this is the most successful tactic the adversary uses on Yahweh’s family members. Just get them to withdraw. Get them to retreat and stay apart portraying it as a kind of Shabbat, that turns into in a type of continuous shabbat of ceasing and desisting. “I don’t need all this.”

Initially we feel good. The ship is going down but we’re in our life boat and safe. Those others out there swimming around, well they’re on their own.

In one fell swoop Satan has initiated the destruction of both the non-believer and the believer.

But there is another kind of “Not giving a rip of caring less.”

It’s the relief we get from observing Yahweh’s Shabbat, the one of His making and giving. That day is given so that we can step out of, retreat, withdraw from the world around us to rest our bodies and receive comfort for our spirits as we focus on and commune with, our Father. It is meant to be able to give and get undistracted love, to be renewed and strengthened so that we can return to the work He has for us back there in the world. In that time we just don’t care about anything else and what a relief and how desirable that is. There is a song, In the “Garden.” One of the verses goes like this”

“I’d stay in the garden with Him though the night around me is falling. But He bids me go through the voice of woe, His voice to me is calling.”

It’s a picture of Shabbat, that heightened, close time with Him’ Yet we are bid to leave the garden.

Leave the garden and be a light for Him, because His love is for all and we are to love all those because He does.

But… and

“He walks with me and He talks with me. And He tells me I am His own…”

Not just in the garden but outside it as we go too.

And maybe, just maybe someone out there will look and see and hear,

“…the joy we share…as we tarry there… none other…has ever…known.”

and they will want it too.

Father, thank You for retreat and rest. Thank You for our close walks and talks. Gird us with Your strength as in Your love we return to the fight. May those outside, looking on, looking in, and be drawn to You.

In Yeshua’s name we pray,

Amen.

May God’ love be in us all.

Elder.
