“…You who listen to prayer,
To You all living creatures come…” Psalm 65:3(2) CJB
Today is the fourth day of the seventh week of seven weeks.
Today is the forty-sixth day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.
On the morrow after the Sabbath, an empty tomb testified to the resurrected “First Fruit” from the dead.
Grief, despondence, fear, confusion, lost hope… until Messiah appeared to them…
From grief to joy, wonderment… and hope renewed. Courage returned and for forty days He was with them, confirming Himself to be alive, doing miraculous things, and speaking to them about the Kingdom… Your kingdom Father.
And He instructed them to remain after He left them and wait for the promised power from on high, Your Holy Spirit, Father, to come upon them ”to… be My witnesses both in Yerushalayim and in all Y’hudah and Shomron, indeed to the ends of the earth…”
Then He ascended to You and the disciples returned to the city and together spent the remainder of the fifty days in the upper room, devoted to prayer and in the Temple Courts praising You Father, waiting…
And on the fiftieth day Your promised Spirit descended, alighted on, and that day, began indwelling those trusting and obeying…they were first fruits of a kind… of multitudes yet to come by the same process.
Onlookers, witnessing the work and power of the Holy Spirit in others, were convicted to repentance, to turning back to You, to be cleansed of their sins, through Messiah Yeshua, and received for themselves the Holy Spirit… and so on…
The harvest began… and continues… all of the elements for executing Your Redemptive plan in place and available to draw to and establish with You, permanent covenant and fellowship, an ongoing experience of individual “Pentacosts” throughout the ages brought about by the persuasive powers of Your Spirit You poured out through willing and obedient vessels.
All of Your Word is meaningful and relevant to our lives today. It teaches us things we need to know and continually be reminded of for pleasing You and Father we pray that we would not disregard any of Your instructions but would observe them all as the Spirit of Truth guides.
So, we count the days Father, to refresh our memory, honor You and to pray for increased pouring out of Your Spirit on us that by Its power we might be effective in the work You would have us do.
Continue Father…we pray… to pour out from Your Spirit.
And may we be ever faithful.
In Yeshua’s name…
Amen.
