In the beginning You created the heavens and the earth. The matter for creation had substance and expanse and depth. But it had no form, no order, no life. It was chaos and it was dark.
You spoke the Light of Your Presence into the darkness. It dawned out over the heavens and the earth. By it time began, order was established and the flame of life was to be kindled.
Thank You Father for speaking the Word, for the living Word whose life is light for us, without whom there is no being, no life.
May we be lighted by and share in His light and in union with Him, Father, shine for You, in the darkness. and the darkness suppress us not.
