Father, we begin the new day with rest and pray in the darkness of night You would grant sleep that is deep and sweet, grant to wake to the daylight refreshed and strong.
Guard us in this vulnerable time from harm Father, physical and spiritual. Send your angels to watch over, Your Spirit to minister, that we might be comforted. Provide a buffer between us and all our circumstances as we cease for just a bit.
As the light of day begins, from the moments when things begin to be distinguishable, to full light, and our eyes open to it, may we lie there in quiet gratitude for Your watch and keep and the gift of life.
As we rise and get about things may that gratitude and thanksgiving remain alive within us and season our words and actions.
If the day goes well or it has its difficulties, Father, we trust in You and rely on You to accompany us through it all.
Enable us and guide us to represent You well, to demonstrate Your patience, Your graciousness, Your loving kindness. May we seek to incorporate all these into the character of all our actions.
May we be used by You to be a blessing.
There are none who don’t have a need for You, Father.
Guide us to them…. Father we pray… show us what You want us to do…
